Easter Camp

At 6pm on Friday night, 16th April, we set off for Kibblestone camp. We got there about 7pm. When we had got all the stuff off the coach we started to put the tents up and the dining shelter. When we had done that we went into the camper and planned what we were going to do on Saturday. Then we had supper and went to bed.

The next morning when our patrol got up we started to make a fire. When it was about going we cooked breakfast. When breakfast was over we washed up. When we had finished everything we could do anything we liked until flag break. After flag break we did either pioneering, canoeing or abseiling. I did abseiling in the morning and in the afternoon pioneering. After that there was a football match and a fishing gala, then the rest played volleyball.

When we had had tea we thought up some stunts to do at camp fire. When it was over we had supper and went to bed. On Sunday when we got up we cooked breakfast and built up the fire. When we had finished and washed up we got the groundsheet out of the tent and rolled the sides up. Then we put our Scout uniforms on and went to flag break. When it was over we went to church.

When we came out we got our uniforms off and had our dinner. Then we had some incident courses. The first one was a rope bridge over a stream. We had to get across. We had a rope and had to make him understand we wanted it tied round a tree. When we went across he started to undo it. All our patrol fell in except Ian Buck. He did not go across.

The next one was a blind trail. We had to follow the rope round a course and identify objects on the way. We had to go through a lot of mud. The last one was getting over a bank with poles. When we were across we made something that could lift us five feet off the ground. Then we had tea and at 10pm a wide game. We both had bases and had to find each other's base and get our arms on to it. Then we went to bed.

On Monday, when we got up and ate our breakfast, we went to flag break. We were the only group there. After that we had a battle. We were in two groups and had to find fireworks and fight them. Then we had our dinner, took the tents down and packed them up, then waited for the coach to take us home. We arrived home at about 5 o'clock. By Simon Sparrow.
