The rest of the evening was spent washing up and just talking amongst ourselves. We all went to bed at about 11 o'clock.
Next morning we woke up at about 7 o'clock to a beautiful view of the Snowdon range. For breakfast we had scrambled egg and rissolis. We finished breakfast at about 9 o'clock. When we were washing up in the lake, Robert told Gerbil to throw the contents of the billy away. Gerbil not only threw the contents, but the billy as well. All the rest of us tried to hit the billy with stones. Robert was successful, only it sunk.
We made Robert go in to fetch the billy. He did so, but with all his clothes on. We started to strike camp and repack our rucksacks. We left our camp by Llyn Llydaw and started our journey back to the car park. Once again Gerbil was first back by a long way. As soon as we were all back we started off for Capel Curig.
We arrived at Capel at about half past 12. We walked up through a farmer's field till we got to some rocks on the top of the hill. First of all we had our lunch of crackers and cheese. Then No. 1 showed us some rock climbing tricks. At about 3 o'clock we all had a go at abseiling. At about half past 5 we went back down the hill and stopped at some shops. Once we had all bought something refreshing we set off again with our target home.
No. 1 told us that he had some friends who lived just the other side of Shrewsbury and that we were going to stop off for a drink and some snacks there. We stayed for about half an hour and then we left. We made our way to Albrighton to drop Hopkins off. At least now there was a bit more room in the back of the Land Rover. After that we were all dropped off near our homes. That had rounded off a very enjoyable but tiring weekend. By Mark Bood.
