The PLs and APLs stuck together, and the rest split up or went together. At 12:30 we returned to the 3rd John Field van for dinner and a play around in the water. After lunch we went into town to complete question sheets and the PLs went looking for a foreign meal for that night. At 3:30 we had to travel back either to the station or the waterside. The poor sailing canoe had no wind but arrived about an hour before the sailors. Evening meal was moussaka, beans and Viennese whirls. We had a laugh trying to figure out how to cook the different things. At 7:30 we prepared for the campfire and at 8:30 flagdown was followed by sketches and silliness at the campfire. Supper was baked spuds and soup.
Tuesday 14th August began with American pancakes and boiled eggs. After flagbreak and kit inspection, the two watches took part in day activities. Port did boating skills and Starboard did a great adventure hike. Starboard set out across the countryside, alternating around the lake and waiting for others to join up. Evening meal was stew and dumplings and instant whip. A football game followed and the Scouts beat the Ventures 3-2. A strange wide game followed, carrying special secret liquid from one side of the site to the other. Supper was coffee and crisps.
