Saturday 11th August

We arrived at camp safely about one and a half hours late and immediately began pitching camp. We went for a swim for half an hour, then had tea of pork chops, mixed vegetables, boiled potatoes and apple pie with custard. After tea strange games were played under the title Cap-Handi. At 9:00pm No. 1 gave tips on boating safety. Tuck shop followed and then bed after supper.

Sunday 12th August

We awoke at 4:30 with a decent awakening by No. 1 yelling through a megaphone. Breakfast was cereals, bacon, eggs and baked beans. An introductory Scouts' Own then introduced the camp company to each other. After lunch of ploughman's and fruit the patrols were divided between boating, golf and orienteering. Tea was fish fingers, peas, mashed potatoes and apple pie with custard. After more camp development and judging, a wide game followed, then midnight supper of doughnuts and drinking chocolate.

Monday 13th August

Gannet were up and already starting breakfast of gipsy toast and jam. At 10am we had a mad rush with frying pans and cooking equipment as No. 1 shouted flagbreak. Inspection followed, and packed lunches were made for the Bala Quest. Starboard patrols caught the train to Bala while port had to canoe, sail or double canoe there.
