Saturday morning began with an air of expectancy because we were going into Monmouth. Breakfast was grapefruit and sausages. After flagbreak and inspection it was found that Seagull had most money and could have the Don't Tread on Me flag flying in the patrol site. Crazy sports followed, with events including balloon toss, welly wanging, boat race and water transport tug of war. Seagull and Mallard seemed to come off best.
Dinner was a mystery meal. Tins of food with their labels removed were put in a box and each patrol picked three tins to see what meal could be made. The meals were judged and money was awarded. Everyone ate quickly so we could get into Monmouth, where everyone looked round the shops.
