wire cable strung across the river above the weir its purpose obviously being to prevent river craft from going over particularly on a dark night.
Continuing on our way we shortly passed beneath a steel railway bridge 996467 4 1/2 supported on piers in the centre of the river. On investigation we found that it had been rebuilt in 1963 on the original piers.
The R.H. bank was well wooded at this stretch and rose in quite a steep bank. The L.H. side
