Andrew thinks of a number.

He multiplies this number by 5 then subtracts 6.

His answer is 39. What was Andrew's original number?

No calculators allowed

He then does the following operations:

Multiply by 3, subtract 2, multiply by 3 then add 26 (in that order). He finds that the number he ends up with is 14 times his original number.
