The page includes the typed Windy Miller Competition for Scout Camp 1982, asking patrols to imagine they were stranded on a desert island and to construct a lobster pot or crafty device to catch edible sea food. It included suggested devices, warnings not to go to sea alone, to keep in groups, and to wear a life jacket.
After the sports, Seagull had to cook the lunch: beefburgers and cake. Time never seemed to be on Seagull's side and the activities were due before we had washed up. The PLs and seconds were to do Operation Dropout, while the rest of the troop toured the castle in Criccieth. Operation Dropout meant being blindfolded, taken in the van, split in two and dropped off at different spots. All we had was a map and we had to find our way back. No. 1 had been to fetch the injured van from a farmhouse, so we piled in and went back to camp.
When we got back we found the other group had got back before us. Adrian Goodall and myself washed up the frying pans used earlier and began our evening meal of corn beef hash and fruit cocktail. After this was the kite competition. Each patrol was issued with two bin liners and asked to make two kites. Following this was a wide game called Capture the Flag. The attacking side had to capture the flag and the defenders had to stop them. David Ashton and I found a way round, but as we were about to take the flag we were caught.
