The page includes a typed camp patrols sheet. Port watch patrols were Cormorant, Redshank and Mallard; starboard watch patrols were Gannet, Seagull and Kingfisher. Officers listed include No. 1, Bosun, Cox'n, Jack Squire, Andy Bates, Robert Bood, Floss Quinton and Doug Quinton. There is also a letter from Squish and sketches of a hike route.
Badge work was next on the programme and that led up to supper, which was cheese and biscuits and soup. Supper was followed by bed.
We awoke to a crisp, bright Sunday morning. Not long after, the patrols had breakfast sizzling awake: cereals, bacon and eggs, and baked beans. After flagbreak was inspection. For the first time in a summer camp, points were not awarded. Instead money was given out.
As the wind was a major problem, boating was replaced by the Athlete's Badge. As the first activities of the camp got underway, Seagull and Gannet started with map and compass training, Redshank and Cormorant began with the Athlete's Badge, and Mallard and Kingfisher did five-a-side football.
Lunch was the nice 'n' easy ploughman's lunch. After lunch it was Seagull and Gannet's turn to play five-a-side football, Redshank and Cormorant did map and compass training, and Mallard and Kingfisher did the Athlete's Badge. The wind was still very strong, so boating was still abandoned. The change in activities meant that the Athlete's Badge was done by Seagull and Gannet, Redshank and Cormorant did five-a-side football, and Mallard and Kingfisher did map and compass training. These activities led up to the evening meal, which was fish fingers, peas, mashed potatoes and rice pudding.
