About four canoes there was also sailing and orienteering. Unfortunately one of the patrols that went around the orienteering course only found all the markers. Unfortunately for the Cormorant A side had scored all ten led by Rob Bood. The B side could only manage to find one marker. This resulted in over an hour and a half being added onto Cormorant's score, dropping them from last place. After a lunch of soup, sandwiches, biscuits and fruit the activities continued into the afternoon and in Seagull's case well into the evening, they did not finish their hike until 8:45pm.
Later that evening after a Scouts Own and some more camp training we had a wide game. The game was based upon a pack of cards with every card being able to beat another. After about half an hour everyone seemed to have finally understood the rules, the game started. It seemed to be enjoyed by all although it was more complex.
After a supper of crisps and coffee, and after a meeting of the PLs, we all went to bed. Once again the troop was up early on Monday morning and after a breakfast of porridge, bacon and eggs, and flapjack we jumped into the day's action. The PLs had revised with Kingfisher, Cormorant and Redshank doing similar adventure hikes to Seagull and Gannet whilst Seagull and Gannet stayed at camp to practise sailing, canoeing and swimming. Seagull did rather well at the orienteering with both side scoring 10 points.
Once again we had soup, sandwiches and biscuits and fruit for lunch, and later that evening when the patrols had all returned off of their hikes we had spaghetti bolognaise, sponge pudding and custard for the evening meal.
Once the task of clearing up and washing up had finished all thirty Scouts descended on to the water to go boating. Some went sailing, some went canoeing, some rowing, some sculling and last but by no means least some went swimming. Andrew Bates, David Onions, Richard Tyler and Andrew Adey went sailing in Squish's boat. Andrew Peek and David Ashton challenged their supremacy in no dinghy but as expected the larger boat shot off, winning by a lot.
