After washing around for about ten hours we went to a gorge where John thought we were not because he had read all the signposts at dinner. Then we went to the place where we believed Philip Owens had his money. After this break we carried on to England to Wales. We did this because we had plenty of time to spare.

When we got over the bridge Neil and Andrew Quinton decided they were going for a swim, so we walked down to a place where the water was running a bit. We thought the spot because the place didn't rattle and the water was clear. After all the trouble we had taken to walk and find this place they never went in at all.

As we were walking the back street we heard a buzzing noise in the distance. Neil decided it was a swarm of bees. Any way it gave us chance to have another rest.

We arrived at the youth hostel just as the doors were opening. We went in and made our beds. Again the group of us had to be split up and so me and Nigel slept in the next room. The rest of the people in our room were starting on a race. In the other part of the group room there was a Welsh school troupe.

The hostel we were in was an old school and still had large kitchens. The evening meal was beefburgers, chips, cauliflower cheese and a cup of coffee.

When this was washed up we went back to St Briavels to watch a ceremony. This was the ghostly ramblings or other. It involved throwing pieces of bread and cheese off the ramp of an old house. The people doing it were dressed in rather old clothes and had to say something. This was very hard to hear because we had all crowded in a shower. While some of us played jumping the pond, the pond had a fountain which reached about 6 feet and we made it very difficult to succeed without getting wet.

When everyone had finished in the shower we walked down to the town centre. In a television shop window Oliver was on. As we couldn't hear the words we made them up ourselves. It must have made an impact because a crowd gathered around us and a police car pulled up. We walked about until we were told to go home.

Next morning we woke up, washed and started breakfast. For a group I would say it consisted of eggs, bacon, bread, sausages and a cup of coffee.

The washing up was done with old tea towels and we were ready to leave. We set out for Welsh Bicknor youth hostel at ten o'clock on Monday morning. We went along the same old way to the hostel and we kept going from England to Wales. The path was littered with complete numbers from the money that had gone on before us. We all picked up a number and pinned it on to our rucksacks. We had all got our numbers No. 1 won our picture. When we stopped for our lunch we were in a wood full of bluebells. For dinner we had cheese, cucumber and jam sandwiches. We also had crisps and apples. After the bit about the bluebells because we were sitting on some horse manure. When dinner was finished we moved on.

The next thing we came to was a canoe race. There were hundreds of canoes all over the river. The ground we were playing on by the river so we all got on and went across. On the other side of the river there was a shop. We had a rest at this shop and then we moved on.

Our next point to head for was the curve in the river and the viaduct. We knew where it was but the hill we had to climb to get to it was massive. When we had reached it we walked along a track which took us down to the river. Here we decided to go for a swim. Only Philip Owens and Andrew Quinton didn't go in.
