Wilderhope Manor Youth Hostel

Everybody met at the Grand Theatre at 9:30. When everyone had arrived we went to the bus station and caught the Midland Red service to Bridgnorth. Those on the trip included Steven Hateley, Ian Buck, Gareth Jones, Charlie Farley, Kev Farley, Cheesey, Robert Cunningham, David Hayley and me. We walked twelve miles before we reached the youth hostel. After about three miles we split up, with the PLs going one way and the others another. In a small village we asked where Skipton was and were told it was about a mile down the way, but after about two miles we realised we had thought he meant Shipton.

In the morning we walked to Church Stretton and got on the train to Shrewsbury, where we changed to Wolverhampton. At Wellington we had to get off because men were repairing a bridge, so we got on a bus to Oakengates and got into Wolverhampton. By Super Steve Jukes. The page includes train tickets.

Easter Camp at Kinver

20th-23rd April 1984

The people who went included Robert Cunningham, Peter Cheese, Martin Cole, Ian Buck, Gareth Jones, Mark Spruce, No. 1 and Bosun. On Friday 20th April we met at the Scout hut at 10am to sort out the equipment. At 5pm we met again with our own equipment. We loaded the cars and went to Kinver, unloaded the equipment in large trolleys, and made our camp site. We made a fire and cooked sausages while No. 1 made brown bread. Then we sang songs around the fire and went to bed after 11 o'clock.

On Saturday morning we had breakfast, washed up, played volleyball and had a chair competition around the fire. We walked to Kinver Edge, then had a rest before being given directions. After returning we carried on with games and dinner.
