After washing up it was quite late. At about 8:30pm the PLs started to build their bivouac ready to sleep there that night. While they were building it, everyone else played the traditional Scout game of shadowing. The PLs returned just in time for tuck shop and supper of baked spuds and soup.

The PLs grabbed their sleeping gear and went back to the bivouac while the rest of the Scouts went to bed. That night in the bivouac was the best night's sleep I had at camp. The PLs returned at about 9:00am just in time for breakfast of American pancakes and boiled eggs.

The rest of the day was spent playing a mini Now Get Out of That. After flagbreak and inspection each patrol packed the equipment they thought they might need. At about 10:00am everybody went out with various leaders to the starting points. Seagull went with Skip towards a wood. We had to solve problems with ropes, spars and natural articles to get the patrol across a marked area, and later to find a key around a circle using a ruler, calculator, paper, pen and compass. We also had to make a raft out of helmets, rubber tyres, paddles and rope, and send two people down the river.
