2) Turn disc until N on needle is in line with line on card.

Set ring to desired bearing. Turn body until two Norths coincide. You are then facing in correct direction.
Ordnance Survey Grid Reference.
Take West edge of square in which object lies - read figs on N or S. margins - estimate 1/10ths eastwards.
