Knotting and Rope work

Best traditional - Hemp. Italian Hemp - best.

Sisal rope - fairly cheap.

Cotton rope - frays but nice to handle.

Coir rope - Made from husks of cocoa nuts - springy - floats - but not very strong.

Nylon. Synthetic - very strong - elastic - doesn't absorb water.

Terylene. No stretch - very strong - non absorbant - expensive.

Courlene. Cheaper than Terylene - floats.
