# Polynomial Division

## Practise dividing one algebraic expression by another in this set of exercises.

This is level 2: divide a polynomial by a linear expression.

Did you know that there is a method for finding the remainder without having to do long division? It is called:

## The Remainder Theorem

If a polynomial $$f(x)$$ is divided by $$(x-a)$$ then the remainder is $$f(a)$$

Do some independent research to find out more about this theorem and how it can be used to complete this exercise really quickly.

For homework, I asked each student to find a definition for the key words they had been given (once they had fun trying to guess the answer) and they presented their findings to the rest of the class the following day. They felt really special because the key words came from their own personal information."
