The word "Eve" is a palindrome, it reads the same forwards as backwards
Here is the beginning of the sequence of palindromic numbers
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 22, 33, 44
How many palindromic numbers are less than 100?

How many palindromic numbers are less than 1000?

How many palindromic numbers are less than 10000?

• Palindrome noun. a word, number or sentence reading the same backward as forward: Eg; 'Rotator', 'Madam, I'm Adam' or 'Poor Dan is in a droop'. From the Greek palindromos meaning 'running back again'.

• None of the answers you had were correct! 18 is not a palindrome as it reads as 81 backwards, and the same goes for the other numbers. 101, 242, 555 are examples of palindorome numbers.

• Those are the answers to the question...ie there are 9 numbers less than 10, 18 less than 100 etc.

• For 10 its 9 and 18 for 100, 27 for 1000 and 36 for 10000 so it goes up in 9s.

• Actually for less than 1000 there are 108 answers, 101,111,121,131,141,151,161,171,181,191, this pattern occurs eight more times for the 200's, 300's... etc. Add the 18 for less than 100 and you will have 9 x (9 + 1) + 18 = 108
For under 10000 there are 279 ways 9 x (18 + 1) + 108
The pattern is 9, 18, 108, 279
for less than 100 000 it would be "9 x (108 + 1) + 279"
I know explanations are missing but I'll leave you with some of the work.
