Everybody woke up early Monday morning, especially Gannet, who were woken by Robert Jeffreys. Breakfast was cereals, bacon, eggs and baked beans. After breakfast came the first flagbreak, followed by inspection, which Kingfisher won and took the Don't Tread on Me flag for having the most money. Most of the morning was spent developing the patrol sites. Lunch was ploughman's and fruit.

The whole afternoon was spent orienteering, canoeing and swimming. Everyone had to go orienteering, but canoeing and swimming were optional. Orienteering involved going off in groups of two or three with a map and trying to find beads along the route. After that, most people had been swimming and canoeing, so the evening meal was fish fingers, peas, mashed potatoes and rice pudding.

In the evening a blind trail was set up in the woods. One patrol at a time had all its members except the PL blindfolded. They followed a rope and had to identify articles hung along it. After everyone was scratched and nettled, the troop split into starboard and port watch for Capture the Flag. After playing for a while we returned to the marquee for doughnuts and chocolate drink before tuck shop and bed.
