Our 48 Hour Sponsored Darts Marathon

Friday October 22nd 1982

The marathon started on Friday October 22nd. Most of the troop took part. Each person was supposed to throw for six hours, some did more. It was split into three periods of two hours. By the time we had finished, most of our arms were aching. To save getting bored we played a variety of dart games such as killer, cricket, round the board and 501.

Some people slept in the Scout hut overnight because they were either throwing late at night or early in the morning. I do not think they really got much sleep. We were raising money for troop funds in order to keep the troop going.

The marathon finished at 6pm British summer time on Sunday 24th. The last group celebrated with a drink of champagne. By Ian Buck.
