Transcription:

bank opposite bench ditch for a quick brew of tea. Our presence disturbed a wood pigeon from its nest and on investigation found the nest which contained one egg about half the size of a hen's egg and pale creamy brown in colour with no markings. Also found was an empty nest from last year which judging from its size belonged to a fairly large bird.
