Patrol relay.
Each Patrol has an O.S. Map. A.S.M. has a series of cards with map refs on. Each Patrol member goes up to A.S.M. in turn to get a card. The Patrol find the place name of the reference and make a note of its initial letter. This will spell out a message giving instructions of what to do next. eg. "report to Skip."
