Types of Boats.
(A) Dipping lug. Loose footed sail. Tack made fast to stem.
(B) Balanced lug. As for dipping lug but add a boom and tack is made fast to mast foot.
(C) Gunter. Soon discovered that the higher angle the yard the more efficient to windward.
(D) Standing lug. As for balanced lug but with gooseneck on boom.
