We have collected together lots of strategy games for you to enjoy. Many of them have mathematical principles involved in their design so would make a good activity for a Mathematics lesson.

Numeracy

"Numeracy is a proficiency which is developed mainly in Mathematics but also in other subjects. It is more than an ability to do basic arithmetic. It involves developing confidence and competence with numbers and measures. It requires understanding of the number system, a repertoire of mathematical techniques, and an inclination and ability to solve quantitative or spatial problems in a range of contexts. Numeracy also demands understanding of the ways in which data are gathered by counting and measuring, and presented in graphs, diagrams, charts and tables."

Go Maths

Learning and understanding Mathematics, at every level, requires learner engagement. Mathematics is not a spectator sport. Sometimes traditional teaching fails to actively involve students. One way to address the problem is through the use of interactive activities and this web site provides many of those. "I began solving this puzzle by thinking about the common product. It must be a number that can be expressed as the multiplication of three numbers in at least three different ways. So when this number is expressed as the product of its prime factors these different numbers are formed by combining the prime factors in different ways. This lead me to the first break through. The prime numbers 5 and 7 are different to the prime numbers 2 and 3 in this range of available numbers. I won’t spoil it for you but I will say that 'trial and improvement' or a 'brute force' approach are not the best strategies to use while trying to solve this puzzle. Good luck."
