Ratio: Level 2

Use ratio notation, reduce a ratio to its simplest form and divide a given quantity into a number of parts in proportion to a given ratio.

This is level 2; Simplifying ratios. You can earn a trophy if you get at least 7 questions correct.

Type in your answer as two numbers separated by a colon (no spaces). The numbers in the answer should be in the same order as the corresponding numbers in the question.

Express the ratio 4:8 in its simplest form. Correct Wrong

The number of boys in a club is 20 and the number of girls is 28. Express this ratio in its simplest form. Correct Wrong

BougainvilleaLast year my bougainvillea plant was 85cm long. This year it is 7.1m long. Express the ratio of the plant's length last year compared to this year in its simplest form. Correct Wrong

The West park has 900 square metres of flowers beds and 3000 square metres of grass. Express the ratio of flower beds to grass in its simplest form. Correct Wrong

A total weight of 209kg of sugar was delivered to the Costalot Supermarket. 121kg of the sugar was stacked on the shelves while the rest was left in the stock room. Express in the lowest terms the ratio of sugar on the shelves and in the stock room. Correct Wrong

A factory was painted with 112 litres of pink paint. The pink paint was made by mixing red and white paint together. It took 88 litres of red paint to make the mix. Express in the lowest terms the ratio of red and white paint used. Correct Wrong

Ant and Dec were paid £153 for writing a column for a magazine. They shared out the money in proportion to the amount of work they did. Ant received £45 and Dec received the rest. Express the ratio of their earnings in its lowest terms. Correct Wrong
