T. Do you know your seven times table?

P. Yes

T. What is five times seven?

P. err... err...errr... thirty five.

T. Correct

Does the pupil know the seven times table? How many errs is the pupil allowed to utter before coming up with the answer?

This free software is a simple program presenting 20 questions on the times table of the pupil's choice. A certificate can be printed by the software indicating the child's name, the date and the time (in seconds) it took for the child to answer the twenty questions.

It is easy for the teacher to monitor progress by keeping a record of times taken by a particular child over a period of time.

From a teacher in Wolverhampton:

> Thanks for the freeby... it's actaully quite good for a give away !

> I have tried Table Master with a wide range of pupils and they love it. They

> like the immediate feedback and the challenge to improve their time in which

> they complete a chosen table. Some kids will spend up to an hour and improve by

> a second. For many that is a tremendious achivement. They also love the

> certificate they have a choice of printing for their record of achievement

> folder. I have also used this program (along with others to set new targets for

> pupils of low numeracy ablity.... and you know, some of them have already met

> their targets and feel a great sense of achievement. Thanks for you for help.

> It's a small step for you but a big step for my little ones !
