Cut out the cards above. Shuffle the cards then deal them to the players [2 to 5 players]. Players must keep their cards face down. They cannot look at their cards. They take it in turns to place a card from the top of their hand on to a single pile in the centre of the table. If the last card put down equals the previous card put down to the nearest whole number then all players race to put their hand over the pile and shout "Snap". The first to do so adds all the cards on the table to their hand. When a player runs out of cards they are out. The last player remaining in the game is the winner.
When students have spent some time playing Rounding Snap, their next challenge is being given a blank set of 50 cards and asked to write on them a set of numbers for Rounding (to 2 significant figures) Snap. They will need to think carefully about which numbers to choose so that the game is neither too difficult nor too easy.
